John Hardy jewelry is born of collaboration between designers and artisans.
The artisan brings deep knowledge of materials and processes. The designer brings the impact of imagination – the sudden intuition, the nurtured vision.
The early John Hardy grew out of four traditional Balinese jewelry – making techniques: rantai (woven chain): tenun (woven mesh): jawan (granulation): and ukiran (cut work). Master jeweler Werner Bellezer developed superbly engineered clasps and introduced modern technical solutions to make the jewelry more comfortable and durable.
