In August, Boise welcomed the Korn Ferry Tour at the Hillcrest Country Club. The tournament started with over 100 players and through elimination cut offs during the week that number shrank to under 75 players. With points on the line, top placed tour members rushed to gain points to keep their top 25 placing. With the top 25 of the tournament receiving their PGA Tour Card, there was a lot on the line, making the Albertsons Boise Open a must watch event. On the opening night of the tournament, Albertsons and Chevron announced a $3 million donation to charity which is the largest contribution in the 33 year history of the Korn Ferry Tour.

Every night leading up to the finals on Sunday, Hillcrest Country Club hosted concerts from bands such as Midland, Billy idol and Train. As a perk Idaho Watch Collective members were given VIP Passes to those concerts and Club House access for tournament play.

Shown below is a picture of the Oris Aquis watch that Simmons Fine Jewelry put forward for the winner of the Boise Open.

After the final day of the Albertsons Open, Will Gordon took home first place with a final score of 21 under par. In the photos below Blake Simmons is shown handing Will Gordon the custom made Oris Watch.

After the first year sponsoring the event Blake had this to say, “I learned how to play golf with my grandfather at Hillcrest Country Club. This is special to me and being able to support such a marquee community event here, that does so much for so many charities, just makes sense plus.” After the success of the Albertsons Boise Open, we look forward in continuing our support of the local community and creating fun and new memories for our members.
